Cryptocurrency users are increasing rapidly with each passing day, and this is one of the reasons why this field is attracting the attention of more and more scammers. The influx of new, inexperienced users is an ideal environment for online con artists to spread their malicious schemes. One of the recent scams that has been reported is the 'WALLET SYNCING' Pop-Up Scam. It appears to target users of Metamask, one of the most popular Web wallets for Ethereum, Fantom, MATIC< and other cryptocurrencies. However, it is entirely possible that the crooks behind the 'WALLET SYNCING' Pop-Up Scam may modify it to target other cryptocurrency communities too.

The goal of the scam is, as always, to steal the wallet of the victim. The criminals try to convince victims that their wallet will cease to function unless they verify & sync their wallet. The website asks the victim to confirm their ownership by providing their 12/24 word secret recovery phrase. You should never accept to provide this piece of information – no service or individual will ever ask you for it. Anyone who has these words can take over your wallet completely. As you can already guess, victims who fall for the 'WALLET SYNCING' Pop-Up Scam will immediately have their wallet drained by the scammers.

If you encounter the 'WALLET SYNCING' Pop-Up Scam, simply close them immediately and leave the website that spawned them.
