Remove UnitCache
UnitCache is a Mac application that may cause some problems if you install it and let it get to work. It is not a legitimate application, and you will not get access to any neat features thanks to it. Instead, UnitCache may work in the background to disrupt your Web browsing experience by triggering unwanted redirects. The true purpose of this application is to bring traffic to 3rd-party sites. It does this through the redirects in question, as well as by replacing the default new tab page, search engine, and homepage of Web browsers.
Mac users often end up installing UnitCache because of fake downloads and updates. It seems that this Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) often arrives through fake Adobe Flash Player content. If you ever see a prompt to download an Adobe Flash Player update, you should decline. First of all, this software is not deprecated, and Adobe does not release updates for it. In addition to this, Adobe Flash content is very rare on the Web nowadays. If you still insist on trying to download the latest version fo Adobe Flash Player, you should do so from Adobe's official website.
Installing UnitCache is not dangerous, but it can be an annoyance to deal with. The program will keep working in the background at all times, and it will start automatically if you restart your system. If you try to fix your browser settings, UnitCache will undo your changes immediately. The only way to solve the issue permanently is to run an up-to-date anti-malware application and remove the PUP fully. Once you do this, you should be able to easily revert your browser settings back to normal.
